Synagogues in South Africa Photography Collection

This is a vast project as covering the shuls in South Africa as many are defunct and in a state of disrepair or gone forever. This is immediately evident when travelling through the country towns.

“I started the journey in the tiny town of Uniondale and came across this piece of heaven surrounded by barbed wire and locked up with chains. The photographs of the ceiling are the narrative.Due to COVID I had to put further travels on hold but will continue in the near future.”
